What we can and cannot show you
Iyer & Sellmer Consulting was formed in 2026. As a firm, we have no completed client mandates to publish, and we are not going to borrow anyone else’s to fill this page.
What we can do is something more useful than an anonymised case study: put you in touch with people who have worked with us, by name, and let them tell you how we work. Between the two principals that covers thirty-six years in the Indian Army and its diplomatic service, four years inside the India–Germany defence relationship at the Embassy of India in Berlin, and eighteen years of Mittelstand advisory practice in Germany.
Professional references
Both principals maintain a list of named referees — former colleagues and superiors, counterparties, officials, industry principals, and clients of our previous practices — who have agreed in advance to speak to prospective clients about us.
We do this properly:
You tell us what you need to be sure of. Whether we can actually reach the people we say we can reach. Whether we tell a client an uncomfortable answer. Whether a transaction we worked on closed. Whether we are pleasant to work with at eleven at night in the fourth week of a negotiation.
We match the referee to the question, and tell you who they are and how we know them before we connect you.
We ask the referee first, every time. Nobody on our list is contacted without our having spoken to them about your enquiry.
You speak to them directly, without us on the call.

Our own record
We cannot show you this firm’s mandates. We can show you the record the two principals bring to it, and all of it is verifiable.
Work performed by PERTHRO Deutschland GmbH is PERTHRO’s, not this firm’s, and we do not present it as ours. Where a prospective client wants to understand Uwe Sellmer’s transaction record, PERTHRO references can be provided separately, on the same terms as above.
Confidentiality
When we do have mandates to write about, we will name a client only with that client’s written permission — the same discretion we will apply to you. What appears on this page will always be something the person named has agreed to.
