The PERTHRO relationship
Uwe Sellmer, co-founder and Director of Iyer & Sellmer Consulting Private Limited, is also the founder and Managing Director of PERTHRO Deutschland GmbH, an independent advisory firm in Berlin which he has led since 2008.
The two firms do different work: PERTHRO advises German companies on financing, subsidy procurement and transactions within Germany; Iyer & Sellmer advises companies crossing between India and Germany. Iyer & Sellmer mandates are contracted, staffed, delivered and invoiced by Iyer & Sellmer Consulting Private Limited.
Where a mandate would benefit from capabilities held by PERTHRO, we disclose this to the client in writing before the work begins, state what it costs and who is paid, and the client is free to decline and instruct another provider. Uwe Sellmer’s interest in PERTHRO is formally recorded with the board of Iyer & Sellmer Consulting Private Limited, and any transaction between the two firms is approved by the board on arm’s-length terms without his vote.
Work performed by PERTHRO is PERTHRO’s and is not presented as this firm’s.
Our delivery network
Specialist work — legal, tax, audit, recruitment, logistics — is performed by independent partner firms named to the client before the engagement begins. Their fees are quoted separately and transparently. We receive no undisclosed commission from any partner firm.
Financial services
Iyer & Sellmer Consulting Private Limited does not provide investment advice, investment brokerage, portfolio management or any other regulated financial service, in India, in Germany or anywhere else. It does not solicit or accept funds for investment. Its corporate-finance work is advisory work for companies: transaction structuring, financing strategy, and introductions to financing institutions, in each case without any regulated activity being performed by this firm.
PERTHRO Deutschland GmbH’s listing with the Federal Office for Economic Affairs and Export Control, and its permit under §34c of the German Trade Regulation Act, are held by PERTHRO Deutschland GmbH for PERTHRO’s own activities. They are not permissions of Iyer & Sellmer Consulting Private Limited.
Defence and dual-use work
We act as advisers, not as brokers or agents. We do not accept success fees for the award of a government contract and we do not represent clients before procurement authorities. We expect clients to hold their own export-control authorisations.
